Management Server Installation

Windows

Important: prior to installing this build, please uninstall your existing Sync IT preview or Sync Pro software!
  1. Open the “sync-it-server-windows-x86.msi” file supplied in the delivered package
  2. Follow the installation steps
  3. By default, the Sync IT server will be installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)\BitTorrent Sync IT Server\" and the BitTorrent Sync IT Management Server will be registered as a service and started
  4. Make sure that your firewall allows incoming connections to the Management Server ports
  5. Open a browser and navigate to https://localhost:8443. Since the server uses a self-signed SSL certificate, you may see a browser warning. Feel free to ignore it or apply your own certificate.
  6. When prompted by the server, provide a username and enter a new password. Once completed, the Management Server console will show up in your browser.

All the ports, used NICs, certificates, and other settings can be adjusted by editing the server config file. The Management Server can be controlled with the srvctrl command.
